Reclaim Your Week

Map where your week actually goes, pick one recurring task, and build an AI-assisted routine that gives you time back.

Campaign:
Reclaim Your Time
Estimated effort:
~120 minutes total

The problem

Your week fills up with recurring tasks — planning, writing, organizing, deciding — that consume hours without feeling like progress.

Why it matters

Time is the first thing AI can give you back. This mission proves it on your own week, not a hypothetical one.

Context

You don't need technical experience. You need one honest look at your week and a willingness to test a different way of handling one task you already do.

Objective

Build one working AI-assisted routine for a recurring personal task, test it on real instances, and note the time difference.

Pain point

Hours lost every week to tasks that repeat almost identically, done by hand every time.

Opportunity

One well-designed routine returns time every single week — and teaches you a method you can reuse on the next task.

Expected transformation

From doing a recurring task manually to running an AI-assisted routine you control — with a before/after time note as your first evidence.

Prerequisites

None — this is a first mission.

Risks and guardrails

  • Sharing private details (health, finances, other people's information) with an AI tool.

Guardrail: Use placeholders for anything private. The routine works the same with generic examples.

  • Trusting AI output without checking it.

Guardrail: You review every output before using it. The routine assists; you decide.

  • Automating a task that actually needed rethinking.

Guardrail: Checkpoint 1 makes you look at the task first — sometimes the right move is dropping it, not automating it.

Checkpoints

  1. 1

    Map your week

List your recurring weekly tasks and roughly how long each takes. Mark the three that repeat most predictably.

    ~30 min

  2. 2

    Design the routine

Pick one task. Write down its inputs, steps, and what a good result looks like. Then write the instructions an assistant would need to help with it.

    ~45 min

  3. 3

    Test on three real instances

Run the routine on three real occurrences of the task. Note what worked, what you corrected, and the time it took versus before.

    ~45 min

Deliverables

  • A working AI-assisted routine Written instructions you can reuse every time the task comes up, tested on real instances.
  • Before/after time note A short note: how long the task took by hand, how long with the routine, and what you fixed along the way.

Evidence

  • Your routine instructions plus the before/after note, with anything private replaced by placeholders.

Evidence is private by default. You choose if it ever becomes anything else — and that choice requires your explicit consent.

Success criteria

  • The routine ran on at least three real instances of the task.
  • You corrected or adjusted the output at least once — and noted what you changed.
  • You can state the approximate time difference per week.
  • Nothing private was shared to produce the evidence.

Review

Self-review with rubric

Self-review against the success criteria is available today. Reviewed verification beyond self-review opens as the Founding Community's review circles form.

Reflection

  • Which part of the task still needs your judgment, and why?
  • What surprised you about where your week actually goes?
  • Which task would you tackle next with the same method?

Impact measurement

Baseline: minutes per week the task took by hand. Result: minutes per week with the routine. Category: time saved (self-reported).

Capability rewards

  • Problem discovery · 40 XP
  • Prompting · 30 XP
  • Workflow design · 20 XP

What this unlocks

  • AvailableThe routine method as a reusable template for your next recurring task.
  • In preparationThe next mission in Reclaim Your Time: turning your routine into a weekly system.

Privacy

Everything you produce here is private by default. Use placeholders for personal details — the mission never requires sharing them.

Accessibility

All checkpoints are text-based and self-paced with no timers. Use whatever writing tool works for you, including voice input.
